A 2 1/2 inch wing-type petrol cap with expanding fingers, for early Triumph, AJS, and BSA Goldstar tanks.
This is the 2 1/2 inch wing-type petrol cap, the winged, flip-up filler cap used on early Triumph, AJS, and BSA Goldstar tanks. It's the expanding-finger style, meaning the cap seats and holds itself in the filler neck by spring pressure from those fingers rather than a threaded collar, so once it's dropped in and the wings are flipped down it locks itself in place.

This one carries an older factory number, 66-8351, on our books, so if your parts list shows that number instead of 82-1034, you're looking at the same cap. It also shows up under the WW72037 designation in some references.
