Rocker box nut
A 1/4 x 26 TPI nut used at the rocker box and in many other spots across the bike wherever that thread size was called for.
This is a 1/4 x 26 TPI nut, listed in the parts books as a rocker box nut but showing up all over the machine wherever that thread size was used — cylinder head and rocker box fittings, fender stays, footrest and toolbox hardware, exhaust brackets, and more. It also appears under the older F879 form, which is the legacy alias for the same part.

Because this fastener turns up in so many figures across the catalog — cylinder block and head sections for multiple model families, forks, mudguards, panels, and more — it's really a general-purpose 1/4 x 26 nut that Triumph used wherever that thread and nut size did the job, not a single dedicated component. If you're chasing down a specific rocker box nut or a fender stay nut, this is the number to match, but check your own parts book diagram to be sure you've got the right fitting for that particular joint.
Given how many places it shows up, it's worth keeping a few of these on hand rather than hunting one down each time you need it.
