AIR FILTER CONNECTOR
Foam connector pipe linking the carburetor to the air filter box on Amal MKII-equipped unit twins.
71-7166 is a foam connector piece that joins the carburetor to the air filter box, sealing the intake path between the two. On parallel-port head Amal MKII carb setups it's the flexible link that keeps the connection airtight so the engine draws through the filter instead of pulling unfiltered air past a loose joint.

These are sold as a pair and go on both carbs, one per side. The catalog lists this under the legacy WW29125 number as well, so if your parts book shows that older reference it's the same piece.
Foam connectors like this dry out and crack with age, which lets dirt bypass the filter, so it's worth checking condition when you're in there doing carb work.
