RUBBER COVER OIL PRESS SWITCH - REPLACES 60-2045

Rubber weatherproofing boot that covers the oil pressure switch connection, replaces earlier part 60-2045.

PN · 71-2930
Supersedes 60-2045 — earlier factory number for this part.

This is the rubber cover that fits over the oil pressure switch, keeping moisture and road grime off the electrical connection where the switch threads into the engine. It's a simple weatherproofing boot rather than a mechanical part, but a cracked or missing one lets damp in and can leave you chasing an intermittent oil pressure warning light for no good reason.

Catalog records show this part number replacing the earlier 60-2045, so if you've got an older parts book or a takeoff bin part still stamped with that number, it's the same cover under a new number. It shows up across catalog listings spanning the mid-1970s into 1980, tied to the timing cover and contact breaker area as well as the carburetor side of the engine, so exact placement can vary by model - if you're not sure which oil pressure switch your bike uses, give us a call before ordering.

It's a cheap and easy thing to replace when it goes hard or splits, and worth keeping on hand since a perished boot is easy to overlook until you're troubleshooting a wiring gremlin that turns out to be nothing more than a bad seal.
