COPPER WASHER,TAPPET ADJ PLUG
Copper crush washer that seals the tappet adjuster plug on the rocker box during valve clearance checks.
71-2080 is the copper crush washer used under the tappet adjuster plugs on the rocker box, sealing oil in after you've set valve clearances with a feeler gauge. Every time those plugs come out to check tappets, this washer is the thing that keeps oil from seeping past the threads once they go back in. It shows up in the cylinder block and head sections of the parts books across several unit-twin figures, so it's a common small item to have on hand whenever you're doing routine valve work.

The older alias E12080 is the same physical washer under the earlier part-numbering scheme, so if your parts book or an old invoice shows that number, it's the same washer as 71-2080 today.
These are cheap enough and get disturbed often enough that it's worth keeping a few in the toolbox rather than reusing a squashed one — copper washers seat by compressing slightly, so a fresh one on reassembly helps it seal properly.
