BSA Tachometer drive shaft
A tachometer drive shaft from the crankcase, used to spin the tach cable off the engine.
This is a tachometer drive shaft, listed in the crankcase section of the parts book. It's the shaft that carries drive from the engine down to the tachometer cable, so the tach on the clocks actually reads engine speed rather than just sitting there.

Our catalog record ties this one to the crankcase assembly and shows it appearing across a couple of model years at the end of the 1960s into 1970. Given the BSA manufacturer listing and how it turns up under a B25/B44 title in other catalogs, this looks like a BSA single-cylinder part rather than something off a Triumph twin.
If you're trying to match this up to your bike, bring in your old shaft or the number off your parts book page. Drive shafts like this are specific to the gearing and crankcase they were designed for, and we'd rather confirm before you order than have you sending it back.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
