Carburettor stud nut
A carburettor stud nut, PN 70-8137 (also E8137), used across several Triumph assemblies per the parts books.
This is a nut that secures a carburettor stud, part number 70-8137, also cataloged under the older E8137 form. It's a small piece of hardware but it shows up across a wide range of figure sections in the parts books - cylinder and crankshaft, frame, footrests and brake linkage, rear wheel, fenders - which tells you this nut wasn't unique to one location. Triumph used the same nut in a number of spots where a stud needed a nut on the end of it.

Because this same part number turns up in so many different assemblies, we can't point to one specific spot on the bike and say that's where yours goes - you'll want to match it against the stud and assembly you're actually working on.
Our catalog record spans appearances from 1968 through 1971, but that's just the range of years the part shows up in the books we have, not a statement that it fits every model in between. If you're not sure this is the right nut for your stud, give us a call and we'll help you confirm before you order.
