Valve spring—inner
Inner valve spring for the cylinder head, fitted alongside the outer spring at each valve; also listed as E8115.
70-8115 is the inner valve spring, one of the pair fitted under each valve in the cylinder head. It shows up in the catalog under the CYLINDER AND CRANKSHAFT and CYLINDER HEAD, BARREL AND CRANKSHAFT figures, and carries the older E8115 number if you're working from an earlier parts book. Same physical spring, just a different way of writing it down depending on which edition you've got.

The inner spring works alongside the outer spring at each valve to keep the valve seated and control its motion as the cam opens and closes it. When these lose tension or start to sack, you'll typically see valve float or noise at higher revs before anything more serious happens.
Our catalog record ties this one to appearances spanning 1968 through 1971, but we don't have a breakdown of which specific engines or head types it goes with beyond that. If you're rebuilding a head, check spring free length and rate against what's actually in the engine before ordering, and give us a call if you want us to confirm fitment first.
