Cap, main bearing
A main bearing cap from the crankcase assembly, holding the crankshaft's main bearing in place in the cases.
70-7423 is a main bearing cap out of the crankcase assembly, the part that clamps down over the main bearing to hold the crankshaft in position in the cases. It shows up in the CRANKCASES section of the parts books, right where you'd expect a bearing cap to live. The older reference for this same part is E7423, so if you're working from an early parts book and see that number, it's the same physical piece.

This is a Triumph part per our records, appearing across catalog entries from 1969 through 1972. Beyond that we don't have a specific model tied to it in our system, so if you're matching this against a particular engine, bring the old cap in or give us a call and we'll confirm before you order.
A main bearing cap is a fit-critical piece — it's line-bored with the case and doesn't get swapped around loosely between crankcase halves. If you're replacing one, it's worth talking to us about how it pairs with your existing cases before you commit to a part.
We've never carried this one. Tell us what you're after and we'll go looking — you'll get a price and photos before you commit to anything.
Sorry if we got something wrong here. If you think this information isn't correct, .
