Chaincase
Primary chaincase (outer cover) for the primary drive housing, catalog PN 70-4122, also listed as E4122.
This is the primary chaincase, listed in the parts book under the CHAINCASE AND CHAINS figure. It's the cover and housing that encloses the primary drive on the left side of the engine, keeping the chain and clutch running in an oil bath and out of the weather. The earlier form of this part number is E4122, so if you're working from an older parts book you may see it listed that way.

Our catalog record spans appearances from 1964 through 1967, which tells us it was in the system for several seasons, but we don't have a specific model tied to it in our own records beyond that. If you're matching this up to a particular machine, bring in your old chaincase or check the casting details against what you're pulling off the bike before you order.
Give us a call if you want help confirming fit before it ships. A chaincase that doesn't seal right against the inner cover will weep oil, so it's worth taking the time to get the match right.
