Outer valve spring (white spot)
Outer valve spring (white spot) for Triumph 6T, TR6, and T120 cylinder heads, part 70-3002.
This is the outer valve spring, white spot, part number 70-3002, from the cylinder head assembly on Triumph's older 650 twins. It's one half of a two-spring setup used at each valve, working alongside an inner spring to keep the valve seated and under control through the cam's opening and closing motion.

The white spot marking was the factory's way of identifying this particular spring rate among a family of similar-looking springs, so don't swap it for an unmarked one without checking the spot. It shows up in the parts books for the 6T and TR6 cylinder block and head assembly, as well as the T120 cylinder block and head assembly, across catalog listings running 1960 to 1965.
This number was later superseded by 70-3001, which our records show being used as a spring set alongside 70-3002 rather than a straight replacement for it — so if you're ordering to freshen up a top end, it's worth checking with us on which combination your engine actually needs before you buy.
