Clip for Oddie fastener

Spring clip for the Oddie quick-release fastener used to secure sidecovers and similar panels.

PN · 68-9115

This is the spring clip that snaps onto an Oddie fastener stud, the kind of quick-release fitting Triumph used to hold sidecovers, toolbox lids, and similar panels in place without a threaded nut. The clip is the captive spring half of that fastener pairing - it slides over the stud and holds tension so the cover stays put until you pop it off by hand.

Going by the parts book, this one turns up across a handful of figures - frame, oil tank and sidecovers, footrests and battery carrier, toolbox and silencers, air cleaner - which tells you Oddie fasteners were used in more than one spot on the bike for holding trim and ancillary panels. The catalog entries here run 1969-1970, though the part carries the older T60 designation too, which is the pre-1973 numbering for this same clip (also listed as 57-0060).

These clips wear out or lose their spring tension over time, and a tired one will let a sidecover rattle or pop loose. It's a small, inexpensive item to keep on hand if you're chasing a rattle or refitting covers on a bike from this era.
