BSA Rubber connection — oil feed pipe
Rubber connector joining sections of the oil feed pipe at the cylinder head, feeding oil to the rocker gear.
This is the rubber connector that joins sections of the oil feed pipe up at the cylinder head, where the feed line runs to the rocker gear. It shows up in the parts book under both the CYLINDER HEAD and CYLINDER HEAD - ROCKERS figures, so its job is keeping oil moving from the feed pipe up into the top end where the rockers need lubrication.

Being a rubber piece in an oil line that sits right next to the top of a hot engine, this is exactly the kind of part that hardens and cracks with age whether or not the bike gets ridden. If yours has been sitting for a while or you haven't looked at it in years, it is worth pulling off and inspecting for splits before you get an oil leak or worse, an oil-starved top end.
