SNAP RING BEARING RETAINING
A snap ring (circlip) that retains the rear wheel bearing and shim in the hub housing.
This is a snap ring, or circlip, that keeps the wheel bearing seated in the rear hub. It fits into a machined groove in the bearing housing and stops the bearing (and its shim) from working its way out of the drum over time. Small part, but if it's missing or sprung out of shape the bearing can migrate in the housing and cause play or noise in the rear wheel.

The catalog lists this under figure REAR WHEEL, and the legacy form of this number is B252A if that's what's printed in your parts book. It's cheap insurance to have one on hand whenever you've got the rear hub apart for bearing service, since these rings can lose their spring once removed.
Our catalog data ties this part to appearances from 1969 to 1970, so treat that as a reference point rather than a guarantee — check your own hub before ordering to make sure the groove and bearing setup match.
