MASTER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY 1979-83 (STAINLESS BARREL) STANDARD BORE
Complete front brake master cylinder assembly with stainless barrel, standard bore, for 1979-on Triumph twins with hydraulic front disc brakes.
This is the front brake master cylinder assembly for the hydraulic disc-brake front end that came in on Triumph twins from 1979 on. It's a standard bore unit with a stainless barrel, which was Triumph's answer to the corrosion problems that plagued the earlier alloy-bore master cylinders. It mounts up on the handlebar and is what a rider pushes fluid through when squeezing the front lever, sending pressure down the line to the front caliper.

The catalog shows this part appearing for the 1979 model year on the FRONT BRAKE figure. It's the complete assembly, not just a rebuild kit, so this is a straight swap-in if your existing unit is pitted or leaking internally from bore corrosion.
If you're working from an older parts book on a pre-1979 bike, this isn't your part - the earlier master cylinders were a different design. Give the shop a call if you're not sure which style your bike left the factory with.
