A condenser like this works alongside the ignition points, smoothing out the electrical spike each time the points open so they don't burn and pit prematurely. It's a small but important piece of the ignition circuit, and a weak or failing one can cause hard starting or a rough-running engine even when everything else looks fine.

The insulating washer that comes with it matters for keeping the condenser properly isolated from the mounting point, so it's worth fitting the whole set together rather than mixing and matching hardware from an old unit. If you're not sure this is the right condenser for what's on your bike now, give us a call and we'll sort out the fitment before you order.
