Pipe, fork leg to caliper (ZTA 2070N)

A rigid metal brake pipe running from the fork leg down to the front disc caliper on Triumph disc-brake models.

PN · 60-4178

This is a hard-line brake pipe that runs from the fork leg down to the caliper on the front disc brake setup, part number 60-4178. It's a rigid metal tube, not a flexible hose, and it carries brake fluid on the last stretch of the run before the fluid gets to the caliper itself. This is a hydraulic-disc-brake part, so it belongs on the later Triumphs that came with a front disc rather than a drum.

The catalog shows this pipe appearing across figures for the front brake from the mid-1970s into the early '80s. If your parts book lists it as D4178, that's the same physical part under a different number.

When you're replacing this pipe, check the fittings on both ends against what's currently on the bike before you order — banjo unions and pipe runs on these disc brake setups changed over the years, and a pipe that's the wrong length or has the wrong end fitting won't seat properly at the caliper or the fork leg bracket.
