Valve ball (7/32 in. dia.)

Small steel ball for the oil pump release valve on Triumph twins, 7/32 in. diameter.

PN · 60-2363

This is the small steel ball used in the oil pump release valve on Triumph twins, 7/32 in. diameter. It sits in the crankcase oil pump assembly and works with the spring and release valve body to control oil pressure, seating and unseating as pressure builds and drops so the pump doesn't force more oil through the system than the engine needs.

It shows up under the alternate number 9528K14 as well, and the catalog data we have places it in oil pump and crankcase figures across a run of unit-construction twins from the mid-1970s into 1980. It's a simple, cheap-to-replace wear item, and it's easy to lose track of during an oil pump rebuild if you're not careful.

Because it is small and easy to drop or misplace, it's worth having a spare or two on hand any time the oil pump is apart. Not much to it beyond that, but the pump won't seal right without it in place and seated properly.
