Cable adjuster

A cable adjuster for control cable setups, listed under the old D279 number too.

PN · 60-0279

This is a cable adjuster, the kind of small threaded fitting that lets you take slack out of a control cable without pulling the whole cable off the bike. It shows up in the parts book under the CONTROL CABLES heading, and it's also known under the older D279 number if you're working from an earlier catalog.

Adjusters like this one thread into the cable abutment or lever body and let you turn them to set cable free play by hand. They're a cheap thing to have a spare of in the toolbox since they're small and easy to lose or strip out over the years.

Our catalog record ties this to 1963-1964 appearances, but doesn't spell out which specific cable or control it's for beyond the general control-cables grouping. If you're matching this to a clutch, throttle, or brake cable setup, give us a call and we'll confirm it's the right one before you order.
