Peg (at thrust washer)
A small locating peg that holds a thrust washer in place inside the gearbox.
This is a small locating peg used at a thrust washer inside the gearbox, listed in the parts books under the number 57-9112 and its earlier form T9112. The catalog places it in the gearbox shafts, bearings, and inner cover area, with a second listing in the crankcase section, so it's doing a bit of double duty keeping a thrust washer registered in position rather than letting it spin or walk out of place.

It's a small piece and easy to lose track of during a gearbox teardown, so if you're rebuilding the box it's worth checking that this peg is still present and not buried in the bottom of the case or missing altogether.
Our catalog record ties it to appearances from 1968 into 1969. If you're working on a different year box, give us a call and we'll help confirm whether this is the right peg for your gearbox before you order.
