Layshaft selector fork

Layshaft selector fork for the gearbox, part 57-4307 (formerly T4307), used with the other selector forks and inner cover assembly.

PN · 57-4307

This is the layshaft selector fork out of the gearbox, catalog number 57-4307, also listed under its older T4307 designation. It shows up in the gearbox inner cover and selectors section of the parts books, where it works alongside the other selector forks to slide the layshaft gears into position when you change gears.

The fork rides in a groove on its gear and is moved by the selector mechanism, so wear here shows up as sloppy or incomplete gear engagement, missed shifts, or the bike popping out of gear. If you're rebuilding a gearbox and this one's worn or bent, it's worth checking the mating gear groove and the selector cam at the same time rather than just swapping the fork on its own.

Our catalog record ties this one to appearances across 1971 to 1972. If you're not sure which fork this is versus the mainshaft selector fork in your box, bring in the old part or call ahead so we can confirm before you order.
