Layshaft c/w high gear (18T)
Layshaft with integral 18-tooth high gear for the gearbox shaft-and-gear cluster, also known by its earlier T4159 part number.
This is the layshaft, machined with its high gear cut right into the shaft as an integral 18-tooth gear. It lives inside the gearbox, in the shaft-and-gear cluster that sits alongside the mainshaft, and it's part of what carries drive through the box in top gear along with the other ratios cut or fitted along its length.

Our catalog record shows this one turning up under the T4159 legacy number, which is just the older letter-prefix way of writing the same part before the numbering was updated to 57-4159. Only one year shows up in our records for this listing, so if you're matching this to a gearbox off a different year machine, get the numbers off your existing shaft or the parts book for your bike before you order.
Gearbox internals like this one don't get swapped often, but when a layshaft or its gears show wear you'll usually see it as noise or slop in one particular gear rather than all of them. Worth pulling the box apart and looking closely before you commit to a full rebuild.
