Kickstarter quadrant
The toothed gear inside the gearbox outer cover that the kickstart lever engages to spin the engine over.
The kickstart quadrant is the toothed gear that turns your kickstart lever swing into rotation of the gearbox mainshaft, getting the engine spinning over for a start. It lives inside the gearbox outer cover, riding on the kickstart shaft, and it's what wears out over years of stomping the lever - the teeth chip or round off and the lever starts slipping under your foot instead of catching cleanly.

This one carries the old T4117 number in earlier parts books, same part under the current 57-4117 designation. It shows up across a long run of gearbox outer cover and kickstart crank figures in the catalog, spanning 1970 into the mid-1980s.
When you're pulling the gearbox cover to look at this, it's worth checking the kickstart shaft and return spring while you're in there since they all take abuse together. Bring your parts book or give us a call if you're not sure which quadrant matches your box - there's more than one variant that's been used over the years.
