Pressure plate

Clutch pressure plate for Triumph primary drive clutch assemblies, part number 57-2156 (also T2156).

PN · 57-2156

57-2156 is the clutch pressure plate, part of the clutch pack that lives in the primary chaincase behind the chainwheel. It's the plate that the clutch springs bear against, squeezing the friction and plain plates together so engine power gets transferred through to the gearbox instead of slipping.

This one shows up in the CLUTCH figures across catalog listings running from 1966 to 1974, so it's a long-running part in Triumph's clutch assemblies through that stretch. Older parts books may list it under the T2156 number, which is the same physical piece under Triumph's earlier letter-prefix numbering.

If you're rebuilding a clutch pack, check the plate for flatness and wear where the springs seat before putting it back in — a warped or grooved pressure plate will give you inconsistent clutch action no matter how good the friction plates are.
