Gear selector camplate
Gear selector camplate for the gearbox inner cover assembly, part 57-1768 (also T1768), later superseded by 57-4218.
The camplate is the part inside the gearbox that tells the selector forks where to go when you change gear. It's a flat plated cam with a track machined into its face; the selector mechanism follows that track as the plate rotates, moving the forks in and out of the gear positions in the right sequence. Part number 57-1768, also listed under the older T1768 designation, is the camplate that shows up in the gearbox shafts, bearings, and inner cover section of the parts books across catalog entries running 1964 through 1970.

If you're rebuilding a gearbox from this era and the shift action feels sloppy or gears are hard to find, the camplate and its follower are worth a look along with the selector forks and quadrant. Triumph later revised this part under a new factory number, 57-4218, so if you're chasing parts against an older book that lists 57-1768 or T1768, know that the current-production equivalent carries the newer number.
