DISC, K/S PAWL RETAINING - T100 UNIT
A small retaining disc that holds the kickstart pawl in place inside the unit-construction gearbox on Triumph T100 twins.
57-1426 is a small retaining disc that sits in the kickstart mechanism on Triumph's unit-construction small twins. It holds the kickstart pawl in place on its shaft so the pawl stays engaged and returns properly when you swing the lever. In the parts book it lives in the gearbox shafts, bearings, and inner cover section, and it's also known under the older T1426 number, the letter-prefix form used before the 57- numbering came in.

Our catalog appearances for this one run from the mid to late 1960s on the T100 unit engine. It's a simple stamped disc, not something that wears out on its own often, but if you're in the gearbox for a rebuild or a kickstart repair it's worth checking that the one in there is still flat and seated correctly.
It's a small, inexpensive piece of hardware, so it's easy to overlook - but a worn or missing retaining disc can let the pawl walk out of position and cause kickstart trouble down the line.
