PEG KICKSTART STOP

A kickstart stop peg that the kickstart quadrant lever contacts inside the gearbox to limit its travel.

PN · 57-0045

The 57-0045 is a kickstart stop peg, a small fixed post inside the gearbox that the kickstart quadrant lever swings against at the end of its arc. It's what keeps the kickstart mechanism from over-traveling when you swing the lever down to start the engine. The older parts books list this same piece as T45, which is the pre-1973 numbering scheme carried over before Triumph moved to the 57- prefix format.

It shows up across gearbox inner cover and selector figures, and it's also referenced in timing cover and contact breaker listings, which tells you it's a small part that gets called out in more than one section of the parts book depending on how a given catalog laid things out. It's not something that wears out on its own often, but if the peg is bent, loose, or missing, the kickstart lever won't index and stop where it should.

Given how long this part number turns up in the catalogs, it was used across a wide span of production, but we don't have exact model-year fitment tied to this record beyond that range. Bring in your gearbox inner cover or check your parts book listing if you want to confirm before ordering.
