BSA Washer — oil pump spindle retaining
Retaining washer for the oil pump spindle, found in the gearbox sprocket/oil pump area on catalog entries from 1969-1972.
This is the retaining washer that keeps the oil pump spindle located in place, sitting behind the gearbox sprocket area where the oil pump lives. It's a small, plain part but it does a real job — without it the spindle can walk out of position and throw the pump timing off.

Catalog records place this washer in the oil pump and gearbox sprocket figures, with appearances running from 1969 through 1972. If you're rebuilding the oil pump or pulling the gearbox sprocket cover, this is worth checking and replacing if it's worn or distorted rather than trying to reuse a tired one.
The part also shows up under the alternate number 42-157, which is just a formatting variant of the same washer — same part, different way of writing the number in different catalog printings.
