BSA Oil pump driving spindle
The shaft that drives the oil pump off the gear train, listed in the oil pump and gearbox sprocket figures.
This is the driving spindle for the oil pump, the shaft that turns the pump so it can circulate oil through the engine. The catalog places it under both the oil pump figure and the gearbox sprocket figure, so it lives where the timing side gear train meets the pump body and gets its motion from that gear train.

The catalog record we have on this one is thin - a single appearance tied to 1969 - so beyond identifying what the part does, we can't speak to which specific model it belongs to. If you're chasing this part for a rebuild, bring your parts book or give us a call so we can confirm fitment against what you've got before you order.
A worn or broken driving spindle means the oil pump stops turning, and that's a lubrication problem you don't want to find out about the hard way. Worth checking the fit and condition of this shaft any time the oil pump is out.
