This is the sump plate with filter screen, Triumph part number 41-0620. It bolts onto the bottom of the crankcase and holds the mesh screen that catches debris before oil gets drawn back up into the pump. It's a wear item that a lot of owners overlook until they're chasing an oil pressure problem that turns out to be a clogged or torn screen.
