BSA Adjusting cap, steering head
Steering head adjusting cap from the front fork assembly, used to set head bearing preload.
This is the adjusting cap that sits at the top of the steering head on the front fork assembly. It's the part you turn to set preload and take up play in the steering head bearings, working in concert with the rest of the head bearing stack. The catalog places it squarely in the front fork figures, so it's part of the steering head hardware rather than anything down at the bottom of the forks.

Our records show this number appearing across catalog entries from 1969 to 1970, but we don't have a specific model tied to it beyond that. If you're trying to match this against your bike, check the shape and thread engagement against your steering stem before you order.
The manufacturer field on this one says BSA, and nothing in the description contradicts that, so treat it as a BSA part unless your parts book tells you otherwise.
