BSA Inspection cap, rocker box

An inspection cap for the rocker box, sealing off an access opening in the rocker box top.

PN · 40-0968

This is an inspection cap, the small threaded cover that plugs an opening on the rocker box so you can peek in or check things over without pulling the whole cover off. It shows up in the catalog under the CYLINDER AND CRANKSHAFT figure, which places it up top on the engine near the rocker gear rather than down in the crankcase despite that grouping.
