Stop screw spring
Spring for the stop (idle) screw on an Amal Monobloc carburetor, keeping the adjustment from creeping while the engine runs.
This is the small spring that sits under the stop screw on an Amal Monobloc carburetor - the screw most riders think of as the idle or throttle stop adjuster. The spring keeps tension on that screw so it holds whatever position you set it to instead of vibrating loose while the engine's running.

It's a simple item but an easy one to lose track of during a carb rebuild or a tuning session, since it's small enough to roll off the bench and disappear. Our catalog record ties it to Amal Monobloc carburetors across a wide run of unit-construction Triumph twins, showing up again and again in the carburetor figures from the early-to-mid 1960s catalogs.
If you're rebuilding a Monobloc and the idle screw won't hold its adjustment anymore, or feels gritty and inconsistent, a tired or broken stop screw spring is a common culprit and cheap to rule out before you start chasing other problems.
