Cover, caliper
A cover that snaps over the Lockheed disc brake caliper on a Triumph, dressing up the caliper housing.
This is the cover that snaps over a Lockheed disc brake caliper on a Triumph, dressing up the caliper body where it clamps around the disc. Triumph part number 37-4263, listed in the FRONT BRAKE section of the parts book, replaces the earlier 37-4170 - if your book shows that older number, this is the part that took its place.

Our catalog record shows this cover appearing through the late 1970s, but the actual coverage on your bike depends on which caliper you're running, so check what's on the bike before ordering rather than going by year alone.
It's a cosmetic and protective piece rather than a functional brake part - it doesn't touch the hydraulics or the pads, it just covers the caliper casting. Worth having if the original is cracked, faded, or missing off the front (or rear, on the triples and later twins that ran a disc there too).
