BRAKE CAM
A mechanical brake cam that pivots to spread the brake shoes when the lever or pedal is actuated.
This is the brake cam, part number 37-2241. It's the pivoting piece inside the drum brake that turns the lever movement into shoe pressure against the drum. On these older Triumphs, the brake operation is mechanical and cable-actuated rather than hydraulic, and the cam is the part that does the actual work of spreading the shoes when you pull the lever or push the pedal.

Our records on this one are thin beyond the basic description, so we can't point to specific model years or which end of the bike it's meant for from what's in front of us. If you're chasing down a worn or sloppy brake lever feel, a cam with flattened lobes or excess play at the pivot is a common culprit, but that's a general observation about this class of part rather than something we can confirm for this exact number.
Give us a call with your bike's details and we'll get you matched up to the right cam before you order.
