Spoke (8/10G x 7 1/8 in.90°) c/w nipple

Rear wheel spoke, 8/10G x 7 1/8 in. with 90-degree bend, complete with nipple, for the rear or quickly-detachable rear wheel.

PN · 37-1271

This is a rear wheel spoke, listed at 8/10G by 7 1/8 in. with a 90-degree bend, and it comes complete with its nipple. The catalog ties it to the rear wheel and to the quickly-detachable rear wheel setup used on some models of the period.

Spokes like this one thread from the hub out to the rim and get tensioned with the nipple to hold the wheel true. This particular length and gauge is specific to where it sits in the wheel, so if you are rebuilding a rim you will want to match it up against the spoke it is replacing rather than assume one length fits everywhere on the wheel.

The catalog shows this part under the older W1271 designation as well as the current 37-1271 number, so either one should get you to the same physical part. Appearances in our records run from 1964 into 1965, tied to the rear wheel and QD rear wheel figures.
