BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH SPRING
The return spring for the rear brake light switch on the swinging fork suspension linkage.
This is the small spring that returns the rear brake light switch after you tap the brake pedal. It lives down at the swinging fork end of the bike, in among the suspension units and chainguard hardware, part of the mechanical linkage that trips the stop light switch when the rear brake is applied.

It's a simple, easy-to-overlook part, but if it's stretched, weak, or missing, the brake light can stay on all the time, come on late, or not come on at all. Cheap insurance to have a fresh one on hand if your stop light switch is acting up.
This part was later renumbered 82-3158, so if you're working from an older parts book you may see it listed as 315738 while newer catalogs and most current stock call it 82-3158 — same physical spring either way.
