Body, top half
The upper body half of an Amal carburetor, where the throttle slide and cables connect, catalog number 313/020.
This is the top half of an Amal carburetor body, part number 313/020. It's the upper section of the mixing chamber assembly, the part that houses the slide and connects down to the float chamber and jet block below. When a carb needs rebuilding or the body's worn or cracked, this is the piece that gets replaced or matched up with the corresponding bottom half.

Our catalog record shows this part turning up across a run of Triumph parts books from 1967 through 1974, filed under the control cables and handlebar/controls figures alongside throttle and choke cable listings, since the carb top is where the cables terminate at the slide. Which specific carb model or bike this one is built for isn't spelled out in what we've got, so give us a call and we'll help you match it to the rest of your carburetor before you order.
If you're rebuilding a set of Amals, make sure this top half is paired correctly with your existing float chamber and body bottom, and check your slide and needle fit before you button it back up.
