PIVOT SCREW
Pivot screw for the front brake lever/control lever assembly, part number 21-2191.
This is a pivot screw, part number 21-2191, and it's the pin the lever pivots on at the control end of the front brake and clutch/brake lever assembly. It shows up in the catalog under both the FRONT BRAKE figure and the HANDLEBARS AND CONTROL LEVERS figure, which tells you it's doing the same job on either side of the bars - the small screw that the hand lever rotates around when you squeeze it.

Catalog records place this part across model years 1974 to 1983, so it's a part that stuck around through several seasons of production without much change. It's a simple, low-cost item but one that wears - the bore in the lever and the screw itself take the friction every time the lever moves, so if the lever feels sloppy or gritty at the pivot, this is one of the first things worth checking.
If you're ordering, have your lever assembly in hand or know which lever it's for, since the same style of pivot screw often appears in more than one control location on these bikes.
