FIELD COIL E3L 6V
A Lucas E3L 6 volt generator field coil, the winding that creates the dynamo's magnetic field.
This is a field coil for the Lucas E3L generator, wound for 6 volt systems. The E3L dynamo was a common fitment across a range of British bikes of the era, and the field coil is the winding inside the generator body that creates the magnetic field the armature spins through to make current. It's an electrical part, not a mechanical one, so if your charging system is weak or dead this is one of the things worth checking along with the armature and brushes. This part also shows up in older records under the number WW10214, which is the same physical coil under a different catalog listing. We don't have much more detail on file beyond the coil identification itself, so if you're not sure your generator is an E3L, check the casting markings or give us a call before you order.
