Band and cork seal for the end cover on a Lucas E3L dynamo generator.
This is the band and cork seal that goes around the end cover on a Lucas E3L dynamo, the generator fitted to a lot of British bikes before alternators took over. The band clamps the cover down and the cork underneath keeps oil and grime out of the brush gear inside. It's a Lucas part, number 200609, and it turns up on Triumph, BSA, Norton, Matchless and AJS machines that used this dynamo, not just one marque.

It's a simple wear item — the cork dries out and cracks over the years, and the band itself can get bent or lose its tension. If your dynamo end cover isn't sealing up tight anymore or the old cork has crumbled away, this is what you replace.
