Stud
A dual-thread crankcase stud, 3/8-16 UNC and 3/8-24 UNF, for the timing side of the crankcase.
This is a crankcase stud, part number 14-1445, one of the studs holding the crankcase halves together on the timing side of the motor. It's a plain piece of hardware but an important one — these studs clamp the case joint and any thread damage or a stripped hole here is a headache to fix once the engine's assembled.

The catalog shows this stud appearing across a long run of years, 1970 through 1985, and it turns up in the crankcase figure of the parts book under a straightforward listing: stud. It carries dual threads, coarse UNC on one end and fine UNF on the other, which is typical of studs that thread into the case on one side and take a nut on the other.
If you're replacing crankcase studs, check the ones you're pulling for stretch or thread wear before deciding how many you actually need. This one's cataloged for the timing side of the case.
