Bolt, chainguard fixing—front

Front chainguard fixing bolt, 1/4-28 TPI x 1-3/4 in., Triumph part 14-0206.

PN · 14-0206

This is the front chainguard fixing bolt, part number 14-0206, sold under Triumph's own catalog listing. It's a small fastener that holds the front of the chainguard in place along the swinging arm area, and it shows up across a long run of catalog years from 1969 into the mid-1980s, which tells you it's a part that stuck around largely unchanged.

Bolts like this one are cheap to overlook until yours is rusted solid or the threads are stripped, and then you're glad to just order a fresh one rather than fight with what's on the bike. It's listed at a quarter-inch diameter with a 28 TPI thread and 1-3/4 inch length, so if you're pulling the chainguard for cleaning or replacement, this is the fastener that goes back in at the front mount.

It also turns up under the number 91247A014, which is worth knowing if that's what's printed in your parts book instead. Given how many figures this bolt appears across — swinging arm assemblies, chainguard and silencer groupings, mudguard sections — it's clearly a general-purpose fixing bolt Triumph used in more than one spot, so double check which mount you're replacing before you order.
