This is the sludge trap plug for the Triumph 650 crankshaft, listed in our records as TAP-7/8X20 with the older alias 2521A456. The sludge trap is the cavity machined into the crankshaft that catches debris flung off by centrifugal force as the engine spins, keeping that grit out of the big-end oil feed. The plug seals that cavity once it's been cleaned out.
