A 4BA plug-type tap in high speed steel, for cutting straight-through 4BA threads.
This is a 4BA plug tap made from high speed steel. A plug tap has a straight, uniform thread run right to the tip, which is what you reach for after starting a thread with a taper tap, or when you need to cut threads close to the bottom of a blind hole.
