Norton Junction Block Dowel
A small locating dowel for the junction block on the crankcase breather and tachometer drive assembly.
This is a junction block dowel, a small locating pin used where the crankcases meet the breather and tachometer drive assembly. Its job is to keep the junction block registered in the correct position against the crankcase so everything lines up when it's bolted down.

It shows up in the crankcase and breather figures for the engine, alongside the crankcase breather and tachometer drive parts, which tells us where it lives on the motor. The catalog record doesn't spell out a specific model beyond that, so if you're matching this against your engine, have the part in hand or your parts book open to compare.
Dowels like this are easy to overlook during a rebuild since they don't carry a part number stamped on them, but losing track of one can throw off alignment on reassembly. Worth keeping tabs on it when you pull the junction block off.
