EVAPO-RUST 1 GAL.JUG
A 1 gallon jug of Evapo-Rust, a water-based soak that removes rust from steel parts without harming good metal.
Evapo-Rust in the 1 gallon jug is a rust removal soak, not a wire wheel or a chemical stripper. You submerge rusty steel parts in it and it lifts the rust off without touching good metal, so you don't have to worry about eating into threads or fine detail while you're cleaning up hardware, brackets, or other steel pieces off an old bike.

It's water-based, so there's none of the fuming or gloves-melting drama you get with acid dips. Parts come out with a dark gray finish rather than bright bare metal, which is normal for this stuff and gives you a good surface to prime or paint over.
