This is the saddle-retaining nut for the rear master cylinder feed on Triumph twins and triples with a rear disc brake setup. It clamps the feed pipe saddle in place where the line runs from the rear master cylinder, part of the hydraulic plumbing that only shows up on the disc-braked models built once Triumph moved off the drum rear brake.
