Bottom yoke and stem

Bottom fork yoke and steering stem assembly from the FRONT FORK figure, cataloged for 1972.

PN · 97-4315

This is the bottom yoke and stem for the front forks, listed in the FRONT FORK figure for 1972. The bottom yoke is the casting that clamps the two fork legs together at the lower end and carries the steering stem, which runs up through the frame's steering head and lets the whole front end pivot for steering. It ties directly into the top yoke and headlamp brackets on most setups, though we don't have more detail on this one beyond the figure it appears in.

The older parts book number for this piece is H4315, which you may see on earlier documentation or on a part pulled from a bike before the modern numbering took hold. Same physical part either way.

Because the catalog only shows this one appearance for 1972, we'd recommend confirming fitment against your own fork setup and steering head before ordering. Give the shop a call if you're not sure which yoke your bike needs.
