Washer
A small washer fitted at the fork top nut on oil-in-frame Triumph forks, taking up slack between the cap nut and the instrument bracket.
This is the small washer that sits at the fork top nut on oil-in-frame Triumph twins and triples, right where the instrument bracket clamps to the fork tube. It takes up the gap between the fork cap nut and the speedometer/tach mounting bracket, and it's one of those tiny parts that's easy to lose track of when you've got the top nut off and the forks apart.

Catalog listings show it under figure titles for the telescopic front fork assembly, so it lives right up top where the fork legs meet the top yoke and the instruments mount. The older alias H4166 is the same physical washer under the pre-metric-numbering scheme.
It's cheap enough to keep a couple of spares in the toolbox, since if one goes missing while you're servicing the forks, your instrument bracket will have play in it and rattle around instead of sitting solid.
